This is the product that you see on all the Home and Garden Shows on TV. It is great for a dry set patio or walkway base. It is actually pulverized granite, which compacts well and stays in place. Although its compacted structure is good, for driveway applications it works better as a dressing, rather than a structural base.
This product makes for a good joint filler on a dry set patio install. It can also be used as the base material, but needs heavy compaction.
To use this a base materials for a dry set patio or walk installation you should rent a plate compactor and make sure you compact it to 97%. You can tell when you are at 97% compaction by doing the heel test. Punch your heel into the compacted material. If your heel makes an indention compact it some more.
