This River Rock is sometimes referred to as “Rainbow Rock” because it has all the colors of the Rainbow in it. Great for ground cover applications the bigger sizes of this stone give a real “Rustic” look to Fireplaces and interior veneer work. This stone’s size range is 1 ½” to 18” round.
Mortaring this stone on veneer installation is at best a slow process. You should allow each coarse to dry properly before handing the next coarse. This stone looks best with regluar mortar, a colored mortar conficts to much with the stone.
Laying this stone as ground cover is a piece of cake. Mortaring it is an entirely different story. I you understand how to mortar stone and have a good feeling for mixing dence mortar. You'll probably do fine. If not, leave it to a professional. You be happier in the long run. |
